What triggers your fear?
Remember when you were a small child and were afraid of the dragon in your closet? Each night prior to going to bed, your mom or dad looked in your closet, under your bed and behind the drapes in your room to show you that no dragon was there.
As soon as the lights were out, unreasonable fear pounced on you. Your heart pounded, you could hardly breathe and your hands became sweaty because you KNEW the dragon was there! You learned to quietly pull the covers over your head, squeeze your eyes shut and pull yourself into the tightest ball possible.
As you grew older, you realized that there was no dragon. Today you have other fears. Am I good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, or successful enough? Am I a good wife/husband, mother/father, sister/brother, worker or friend? You conquered the dragon and now you have the power to conquer these other fears, too.
These fears have become your new dragon and you experience the same emotions more intensely than when you were a child. Only now you are an adult and hiding under the covers is no longer an option.
How do you change your fears to opportunities TODAY? What strategies do you use? What have they taught you? How have you learned from each and every fear?
